When you see Caroline Thomas at the Grand Lake Market, she is actually wearing two hats--one on behalf of Sheri Williamson who has 5.5 acres of strawberry fields in Carlsbad near San Diego and a second for Randy Shoup who has 16 acres of Haas Avocados in Temecula. The strawberries are a strain bred quite specifically for the Carlsbad climate and are typically available from January through June. The avocados, she says, are the very best available.
