Patty Herrera
Owner/Hatmaker

Patty & Company

In 1991, fresh out of San Francisco State with a BA in clothing and textiles, Patty Herrera sat down with her mother who is a professional seamstress and made some "scrunchies". Thirteen years (and a great many scrunchies later), Patty and her mother continue as a very successful, home-based team producing an extensive line of colorful hats and hair ornaments.

In her booth here at the Grand Lake Farmers' Market, you can find floral hair clips. chokers, head bands and floral pins that are equally adaptable for hats or for clothing ornamentation. Then, of course, there are the hats themselves. During the summer, they sell mostly cotton and hats with big brims. Winter hats are most likely to be made of velvet, brocade and fake furs. Their latest creations include scarves and hand bags in fabrics that match their hats.

Patty sells at the Marin Farmers Market and all the local art & wine street festivals. A full schedule is posted on her new website.
