Ona Ammatya staffs the K & J Orchards booth at the Grand Lake Market. K & J is owned and operated by her parents Jim and Kalayada Beutel. They have two main orchards--one in Winters and another near Yuba City. They grow a variety of tree fruit, specializing in Asian pears, Fuyu Persimmons, peaches and cherries which they typically begin to harvest in late May. They also package dried fruit which is vacuum-sealed with no sulfur or other preservatives.
