Growing up, we figure Ken Orchard had two options--change his name or pursue a career in horticulture. Fortunately, for his many devoted customers, he chose the latter. A 1992 UC Santa Cruz graduate, he was schooled in the intensive organic farming methods pioneered by the late Alan Chadwick and within two years, was operating his own farm in Sonoma County utilizing those principles. Ken is best known for his extensive array of leaf and root vegetables. His website is well-worth a visit--especially for the long list of what he grows and how it's best used.
